Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know to rent a parking space, garage or motorhome spot from a private owner, or to list your own.
How do I rent a parking space on ParkForCar?
Enter the city, your dates and your vehicle, pick a listing from private owners, then book and pay online. You can also filter by equipment: charging station, power outlet, water point or waste disposal for motorhomes.
Which vehicles can be parked?
Cars, motorhomes, caravans, trucks, motorbikes, scooters or bicycles. Each listing states the accepted vehicles, along with the height and dimensions available, so you can be sure your vehicle fits.
Are there services for motorhomes?
Yes. Owners can list a water point, grey or black water disposal, a power outlet or a charging station. You will find them on each listing and in the search filters.
Can I sleep in my motorhome on the space?
Only if the listing says “Overnight stay allowed”. The owner decides this option. Without it, parking is allowed but not sleeping on board.
How do I list my space?
Create your listing in a few minutes: photos, address, accepted vehicles, prices and availability. A driveway, a courtyard, a garage or a corner of the garden is enough. You set your own prices.
How do I protect my space so no other vehicle takes it?
A retractable parking barrier (for example electric, battery-powered, remote-controlled) stops another vehicle from parking. Once installed, tick “Retractable parking barrier” in your listing: renters can see it, and you can also filter protected listings from the home page.
How does payment work?
Payment is made online, securely, when you book. The owner is then paid automatically.
Can I cancel my booking?
A paid booking is firm and cannot be cancelled in self-service. Write to contact@parkforcar.fr, preferably before the start. If the space is unavailable or occupied when you arrive, we look into it and may refund all or part of the booking.
How do I get into the space once booked?
Access details (code, key box, gate...) are shown on the listing once your booking is made.
Will I get a reminder before my booking starts?
Yes. An email is sent before the start (one hour before for an hourly booking, at 8 am on the first day for the others). It reminds you where to find the access details and what to do if the space is occupied. You do not get one if you booked very shortly before.
What happens if a vehicle stays past the end time?
The renter commits to leaving the space at the agreed time. If there is a problem, the owner or the next renter can report the incident from their ParkForCar account. The details are in the terms of use. A renter reported several times first gets a warning, then their new bookings can be suspended, and they can explain themselves by email.
What should I do if the space is occupied when I arrive?
In your account, click “The space is occupied” (available 15 minutes after your booking starts). The previous renter is reminded, the owner is notified, and you see the expected vehicle (partial plate, make and colour) so you can tell whether it is a delay or an intruder. You can also report a problem from the same page.
